The San Antonio Stockyards Historical Society acquired an 8 Acre former Charro Ranch on the city’s south side the stalls will be used to offer stalling to underprivileged 4-H kids to raise show animals and qualify to compete in Stock shows across Texas for scholarships.
We will have a food court area section that will open Thursday – Saturday featuring live music, Great food, cold beverages, games, chicken bingo, corn hole, horseshoes, and the kids get to see
ponies, chickens and Thumper our Show rabbit, our first donation for the kids from a local supporter.
The arena area will be used for Ranch Rodeo, Dances, Concerts, Events, the kids will use the arena to show off their livestock. Profit from both the food court and the arena will be used to support our 4-H kids.
About SASHS
SASHS was created in October 2018 to promote awareness of the forgotten stockyard and cattle industry in San Antonio. Texas is immediately associated with the American cowboy and the cattle drives that helped develop their impressive reputation. SASHS will honor this legacy and their contributions to the formation of San Antonio as a major tourist destination.
Support for local high school FFA (Future Farmers of America) & 4-H organizations by:
- Providing shared workspace to raise show animals
- Raising and awarding college scholarship funds
- Promote Adopt-a-Steer program throughout FFA chapters

Looking for Ranchers in South Texas to help sponsor program to launch an Adopt-A-Steer program for kids ages 6-16.
We will promote awareness through a variety of events across San Antonio.
To launch a mixed-use development venue which will host a multiple of events including a 30-40 herd cattle drive, country music and guacamole festival, stockyard gala, and poetry and story-telling programs.
